Hearing Aids

If you are one of the many Americans who suffer from hearing loss, it is time for you to find a hearing aid that is designed especially for you.

Choose a Custom Designed Hearing Aid That Will Improve Your Hearing

For those who don’t know, a hearing aid is a small electronic device worn in or behind your ear. These devices have 3 parts which consist of a microphone, an amplifier, and a speaker. The sound is received through the microphone, which converts the sound to electrical signals and sends them to the amplifier. The amplifier increases the power of the signals and sends them to your ear through the speaker.

Types of Hearing Loss Which Require Hearing Aids:

Conductive Hearing Loss

This type of hearing loss can include the the outer ear, the middle ear, or both. This can be caused by an earwax blockage, punctured eardrum or excess fluid. This can most often be corrected surgically.

Nerve Hearing Loss

This type of hearing loss involves damage to your inner ear. This can be caused by disease, illness, age, injury from exposure to noise or certain medicines, or a genetic disorder. Unfortunately, this type of hearing loss can’t be repaired surgically, but it can usually be corrected with a hearing aid.

Mixed Hearing Loss

This can be a combination of sensorineural and conductive hearing loss. After speaking with a doctor, if your hearing loss can’t be treated medically or surgically, a hearing aid may be a good option for you.
